Universal Forest Products addresses economic costs and environmental impact globally

Our Sources

While Universal Forest Products purchases lumber from around the world and from nearly all continents, we do so with strict policies and practices in place to assure that the lumber you purchase is responsibly harvested. In South America and New Zealand, for instance, we buy primarily plantation-grown North American pines. The wood we buy from China and Europe also is plantation-grown. All in an effort to assure that, in addition to being mindful of economic costs, we are also mindful of our environmental impact.

Universal Forest Products is a $2.7 billion holding company with subsidiaries throughout North America and in Australia that supply wood, wood composite and other products to three robust markets: retail, construction and industrial. The Company is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Mich., and is celebrating its 60th year in business.
