Product Questions
What kind of railing systems does Deck Images E2A offer?
Deck Images E2A railing includes aluminum railings with several baluster options. Aluminum balusters come in round and rectangular styles. Clear glass balusters are also available for an unobstructed view.
What are the railings made of?
Deck Images E2A rail kits and metal baluster kits are made from low-maintenance aluminum which is powder coated for durability. The glass balusters are made of 5/16” tempered safety glass.
What size are the balusters?
The round aluminum balusters are 3/4” outside diameter. The rectangular aluminum balusters are 1/2” x 3/4”. The glass balusters are 5/16” thick by 6” wide.
What colors are available?
Deck Images E2A railing features a durable powder-coated finish available in Black, White, Clay and Green. The tempered glass is clear for an unobstructed view.
What height is the railing?
Deck Images E2A railing is approximately 36".
Are stair railings available?
Our standard Rail Kits are used for stair railings. Baluster kits with stair rail inserts are used to build stair rails from 32- to 37-degrees.
Are gates available?
We offer gates to match our aluminum and glass railings. Our gates come in knockdown kits with standard hinges and a latch, and require assembly.
Are railing kits from Deck Images environmentally friendly?
Yes. The aluminum used to produce our rail kits is comprised using a minimum of 75% recycled post-industrial scrap and the remainder from a prime source such as bauxite.
The process of converting scrap aluminum into reusable aluminum is very environmentally friendly.
Aluminum:- Is able to be recycled indefinitely since virtually no waste is generated in converting one pound of scrap into one pound of extrusion ingot.
- Does not lose quality during recycling.
- When recycled, requires approximately 1/10 of the energy used by a primary producer to convert bauxite (ore used in making aluminum).
In addition to using recycled aluminum, our railing systems receive an environmentally-friendly powder-coated finish.
The powder coating process is virtually pollution free since, unlike liquid paint used in a standard spray painting process, there are no solvents used and minimal waste occurs. Negligible amounts, if any at all, of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are released into the atmosphere and any unused or oversprayed powder is contained within the production area and recovered. This minimal amount of waste can then be disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner.
Because of the durability of our powder-coated railing systems (15-year warranty on the finish), a longer product life can be expected.

Installation and Warranty
How far apart can the posts be spaced?
Posts can be spaced a maximum of 6’ on-center.
Do I need special tools to install the railing?
Conventional tools can be used for cutting, drilling and fastening. For your safety, remember to wear protective clothing and safety glasses.
What can I use to cut the railing?
We recommend using a sharp, carbide-tipped, multipurpose saw blade.
How do the posts attach to the deck?
The posts are surface-mounted to the decking understructure with lag screws. At locations that don’t have structural framing below to attach to, additional blocking is installed and the post mounting hardware kit (included in post kit) is used to install the post. For more information, refer to the Installation section.
Does the railing system accommodate angles?
We offer connectors to handle all of the angles you would typically encounter, including 180°, 90°, 45° and 22.5°. For more information, refer to the Installation section.
Can the railing system be installed on concrete?
E2A railing can be installed on concrete. There may be additional items required for installation such as a hammer drill, masonry bits and concrete anchors.
Can the railing be installed with clear plastic sheets instead of glass?
We do not recommend using plastic as it scratches easily and tends to yellow over time.
Does Deck Images E2A railing come with a warranty?
Yes. Deck Images E2A railing is covered by a 15-year limited powder-coat warranty, which warrants the finish against visible checks, cracks, showing chalking and color change.
Care and Cleaning
How should the aluminum railing be cleaned?
Use a mild household detergent and water mixture to clean the aluminum then rinse with clean water.
How should the glass balusters be cleaned?
Use a mild household detergent and water mixture to clean the glass balusters then rinse with clean water. If desired, the use of a glass treatment will help repel water and reduce water spots.
