Deckorators® Adds Decorative Postcovers to Accessory Lineup
WINTHROP, MAINE, January 29, 2007 – Deckorators®, Inc., the nations leading manufacturer of decorative deck balusters and fence and rail accessories, has introduced a brand new category of rail product designed to turn standard fence and deck posts into extraordinary design accents.
Postcovers by Deckorators are new for the 2007 outdoor building season. The first Postcovers introduced are part of the Stacked Stone Collection with three color options: Canyon, Gray and Sedona. Each column is 42” tall and is designed to fit over standard 6x6 and 4X4 posts.
The Deckorators Postcovers have been designed as decorative accents for fence posts, decks and the supports for second-story decks. They also add interest anywhere a builder wants to enhance a structural detail or make a design statement.
The Deckorators Postcover is made of high-density polyurethane that uses a proprietary molding process to create the realistic look of dry, stacked stone. The process coats the tri-colored pigments in the mold, which results in a highly durable and long-lasting surface on the product. The Deckorators Postcover carries a 25-year warranty against fading, cracking, splitting or warping.
The Postcovers are simple and easy to install over standard posts. They secure directly to the post with shims and then tie into the deck’s rails using a special connector. The connectors are designed to accommodate a variety of rail or stair angles, including 90-degree, 22.5, 33 and 45-degree angles.
The Stacked Stone Collection offers three options for adding design detail to a deck. Postcovers will also help create an inviting entrance on a front porch landing or add a decorative touch to a mailbox or other design feature.
The tri-colored styles of Canyon, Gray and Sedona are each designed to coordinate well with wood, composite or vinyl deck rails and decks. All Postcovers come with a matching top cap.
Postcovers retail for approximately $149, including the matching cap. They are available through Deckorators’ established network of local lumber retailers and by special order from Lowe’s Home Improvement stores in the United States and Canada.
