Care & Maintenance
Pressure-treated lumber products like ProWood® Micro and ProWood Micro CA should be protected and maintained to keep them looking good season after season. Periodic application of a high-quality, clear water repellent or semi-transparent stain with water repellent will help minimize warping, checking, splitting and other weathering problems.
Clear water repellent can be applied immediately to new pressure-treated wood. Semi-transparent stains with water repellent should be applied to new pressure-treated lumber as soon as the wood’s surface is dry. The dryness of the surface can be determined by sprinkling a few drops of water on the surface. If the water is rapidly absorbed by the pressure-treated wood, apply the semi-transparent stain with water repellent immediately. If the water is not readily absorbed by the treated lumber, wait a few days and then test again before applying the stain.
Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations when applying clear water repellent or semi-transparent stain with water repellent.
