Building Trusses

Bracing

Proper bracing techniques are essential to the safety of all builders during truss installation. The information provided here is to illustrate some common practices involved in bracing trusses.

We recommend following the bracing guidelines published in the WTCA's publication BCSI 2008, as this is the industry standard on how to properly brace trusses.

Trusses over 60’ in length should have a temporary and permanent bracing system designed by a Professional Engineer. Refer to WTCA's BCSI 2008 publication and WTCA's Commentary for Permanent Bracing.
