Wood lattice is an easy, versatile way to lend beauty, privacy and dimension to an area without blocking airflow or confining the space. Lattice is one of Universal's specialties, and we are one of the largest producers of wood lattice panels in the U.S.
Because lattice has so many uses, our Lattice Basics product line comprises the full array of lattice panels. Held together by galvanized staples and featuring finished corners, Lattice Basics include both garden and heavy-duty lattice. The difference between these two types is thickness: heavy-duty lattice is 3/4" thick, while garden lattice is 1/2" thick.
Heavy-duty lattice should be used when extra support is needed or in areas prone to strong winds. Garden lattice is for more decorative uses. To meet your unique needs, we also offer lattice in other sizes—from one-half to one inch thick.
Privacy lattice, which is available in both garden and heavy-duty varieties, is another one of our Lattice Basics products. Just as the name implies, this type of lattice has smaller openings to protect your privacy. The openings in privacy lattice range from 3/4 to 1-3/4 inches in size, while standard lattice openings are 2-5/8 inches wide.
Lattice is often framed. Universal offers a few framed lattice products, but most people prefer to frame their lattice themselves. To that end, Universal sells caps and dividers for framing.
Most of our lattice products are pressure-treated to withstand outdoor elements. Universal is the leading producer of pressure-treated wood, so you can be assured that your lattice will last.
