Our Leadership Team

UFP Industries is made up of thousands of highly-skilled, dedicated employees. It is through their hard work and success that our leadership team is able to position our company for continued success. The members of this team have been with UFP for decades, working their way up through the ranks to achieve leadership roles.

WILLIAM G. CURRIE, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD

Mr. Currie joined Universal in 1971. He was president of Universal Forest Products from 1983 to 1990, and president and chief executive officer of The Universal Companies, Inc. from 1989 until the 1993 merger to form Universal Forest Products, Inc. On January 1, 2000, he also became vice chairman of the board of the company. On July 1, 2006, Mr. Currie was appointed executive chairman of the board. On July 20, 2009, he retired from full-time employment at the company, retaining his position as board chairman.

MATTHEW J. MISSAD, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Mr. Missad has been employed by Universal since 1985. He served as general counsel and secretary from 1987 to July 2011 and also held the position of executive vice president from 1996 until July 2011, when he was named the fifth CEO in the history of Universal Forest Products, Inc.

PATRICK M. WEBSTER, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Mr. Webster began his career in sales and purchasing at Universal Forest Products in 1985 and was promoted to successive executive positions in purchasing and operations. He became vice president of the Far West Region in 1999 and was promoted to president of Universal Forest Products Western Division, Inc., in 2007. He was appointed president and chief operating officer on October 15, 2008. In 2019, with the announcement of the company re-organization, he will continue as chief operating officer and also oversee COO responsibilities for UFP Industrial and UFP Construction.

MICHAEL R. COLE, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Mr. Cole, CPA, CMA, joined the company in 1993 after serving in various capacities with the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, LLP. In 1997, Mr. Cole was promoted to director of finance for Universal Forest Products, Inc., and on January 1, 2000, he became vice president of finance. He was named chief financial officer of the company on July 21, 2000.

ALLEN T. PETERS, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, UFP RETAIL 

Mr. Peters joined the company in 1997. In 2004, he became general manager of operations for the company’s facility in Harrisonville, Mo., and in 2007 was named vice president of the Gulf Region. In 2011, he became president of UFP Western Division, Inc. In 2019, shortly after the announcement of the company re-organization, he was named president and COO of UFP Retail.

SCOTT WORTHINGTON, PRESIDENT, UFP INDUSTRIAL 

Mr. Worthington began his career at UFP Industries in sales in 1997 and moved into operations in 2000. He has since served in roles of increasing responsibility, including general manager of operations in New Waverly, Texas, and regional vice president of South Texas. He became president of UFP Industrial in January 2020.

PATRICK BENTON, PRESIDENT, UFP CONSTRUCTION

Mr. Benton joined Universal in 1993 as a production trainee in Saginaw, Texas. He held positions of increasing responsibility there and in Schertz, New Waverly and Houston, Texas and, in February 2008, he was promoted to vice president of operations (South Texas). He was named executive vice president of UFP Eastern Division-North in 2014 and recently promoted to president of the Northern Division in 2017. In 2019, shortly after the announcement of the company re-organization, he was named president of UFP Construction.

C. SCOTT GREENE, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT

Mr. Greene joined the company in February 1991 as marketing manager for the then-Universal Forest Products Southern Company. In 1996, he became general manager of operations for the company's Florida Region, in 1999 became vice president of marketing for Universal Forest Products, Inc., and in 2001, was promoted to president of the company’s Eastern Division. In 2011, Mr. Greene was named executive vice president of new business development and then in 2013 executive vice president of marketing. In 2018, he was named executive vice president, strategy and development. 

DONALD L. JAMES, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, NATIONAL RETAIL SALES & MARKETING

Mr. James joined Universal in 1998 after a 16-year career with a national lumber and building materials retailer. Since joining Universal, he has held the positions of director of national site-built sales, general manager of operations, vice president of operations, executive vice president of site-built, and regional vice president, the position he most recently held for the Northern Atlantic Region, prior to his promotion on October 1, 2011 to executive vice president of national sales. In 2018, he was named executive vice president, national retail sales and marketing.

NANCY DEGOOD, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN CAPITAL

Ms. DeGood began her career at UFP Industries in 1987 and has progressed into roles of increasing responsibility, developing expertise in benefits, workers compensation, personnel policies, training and due diligence for acquisitions. She was named vice president of Human Resources in 2013 and was named to her current role in 2020.
